TOY TIP: How to Make Birdie Macramé Toy.
Thread an 8- to 10-inch piece of rope through the links of the chain and
tie two knots in the middle of the rope (on each side of the chain).
After your bird frays the ends, trim the ropes. Hours of fun for only pennies!

SAFETY. All our leather is vegetable tanned. Use only vegetable tanned leather for bird toys. Other leather is tanned with chemicals (metal salts) that can harm your birds.

I finally had the chance to see the difference between rope that is safe and rope that isn't. Most rope has polished fiber strands that don't pull apart easily which is why parrots have problems getting untangled when they get in it ... the strands of (unpolished) rope pull apart easily like a cotton ball to avoid trapping and injuring bird feet and toes.
