Foraging Bird Toy Instructions and Games for Birds - Birds Just Wanna Have Fun - The Store for Fun Parrot Toys and Bird Toy Parts

FORAGING GAME

PLAY BEHAVIOR.  Playing happily for hours in a cage is important for the long-term health and happiness of our companion parrots.  Foraging toys like the ones sold here help develop independent play behavior.

How to make the toy: Make a foraging toy (see photos) with two hats (from a craft store) and one leather lace. Punch holes, tie leather lace (make a knot on each side), stuff with treats, tie the last lace, and hang or use as a foot toy.
NOTE: Use with DIRECT supervision with the straw hat.

Fasten two hats together and stuff the inside with toy or treats.    Hang the hat toy or use it as a foot toy -- depending on the size of your bird.    Stuff with treats and watch your bird go wild!

Games:  She played this game for an hour.  Put the box in the cup, take it out, repeat.  Drop it, fetch it, and finally, put a hat on it!

Rosie is putting the treat box inside the treat cup. Then she placed the rim of the straw hat over the cup!
Placing treat box in the cup for later!  Now she's done!
