3. Foraging Box with Lid -- Simple Foraging Toy 
Price: $4.95 for 6 boxes

Natural soft wood round box with lid.  Holds small items such as the almond in the shell shown in the photo. Size: 1˝ inch wide and 1 inch high.  

Lid can be glued on to make the toy more difficult to open.  We recommend using white school glue.

Place a small amount of food in 5 to 8 cones or cups.  Crush the cup in your hand, then twist the top.  

For more of a challenge, place the closed cup in a second cup and close.  Gives two layers to chew through.

To make the cup toy easier to open, poke or snip holes in the cup or cone.  For small birds -- or for variety -- punch a hole in the top of the twisted cup or cone and hang it from a quick link.
